Hidden from the main streets, a narrow stepped street in the old quarter descends in the direction of the river Isle, Perigueux.
   

Champcevinel, one of the smaller of the 13 towns centered on Périgueux forming part of the Commune de l'Aglomoration Perigourdine, sits on the hills to the north of Périgueux. A small, well kept village centre, with a Mairie, Bibliotheque (library), Social centre, primary school, equestrian stables, sports facilities (sports centre, tennis courts, pitches) and some commercial services (bakery, café/restaurant) it is not far from the centre of Perigueux.
